Log system

Chat system logs are stored on chat server for archive purpose, and hosted chat owner can check logs in web interface(not through ftp).

There're two types of logs:

• access log

  the list of all the "come and go" of users. One access log will be generated each day, and the main log keeps recording the current day access activities while the history logs will be automatically added a postfix of date in filename.



• message log

  onversation log with timestamp, which is stored separately in folders named after room id.

Note: If you turn off chat server history log in Admin Panel, there will be no log on the chat server any longer.

How to access log system?

After successfully subscribing to 123 flash chat hosting service, you'll get a URL to check logs of your chat system with an unique account. Provide username and password in popup dialog to access the log checking URL. Please keep the password secret.

History Panel

There's another feature which can store conversation history, too, that's front-end history panel. The differences of it:

• It's internal of the chat client.
• It's both available to admin/moderator or ordinary user.
• It's generated from the moment you connected to the chat, and is removed at the moment you disconnected from the chat. ie: it won't be saved for future use.

There're two ways to access history panel:

1. Enter a room, Options-> View message history
2. Enter a room, right-top quick button: open message history.

Registered member management

If a hosted chat is not integrated with external database, the registered member information will also be stored in the backend management system, to be specific, in folder named "members" and recorded in text files, one file for one user.
