1) What is the preferred Linux OS to install 123flashchat on? Or, what do *you* run your 123flashchat server on?
2) Can I run the chat server on Computer A but have it access the user database from vBulletin on Computer B? |

1. redhat enterprise 3, or fedora, redhat 9.
our hosting server is running redhat enterprice 3. 2. we have a lot of customers have the vBulletin installed on their own web server, and integrate the chat on our hosting server, that's exactly "Computer A but have it access the user database from vBulletin on Computer B". you can do it in this way: step 1) Install the chat server in Computer A step 2) download the vBulletin chat module for 123 flash chat server here: http://www.123flashchat.com/vBulletin_chat.html unzip the file Vbb3.0_mod_for_123flashchat_4.5.0.zip , upload vbb.php file to your vBulletin root web directory(Computer B) for example , the url is : http://computerB/vbb.php step 3) edit <123flashchat installed dir>/etc/default.xml , change <integrated-other-database>None</integrated-other-database> to <integrated-other-database>URL</integrated-other-database> <auth-url>http://computerB/vbb.php?username=%u...rd%</auth-url> step 4) restart chat server. more details please refer: http://www.123flashchat.com/vBulletin_chat.html ![]() |
