We understand red5 is a cut-edge technology but we do not recommend you to use red5 to be used with our video module to enable video chat function for 123flashchat.
You are recommended to buy flashcomm server from macromedia.

I was thinking of the same thing! Red5!

I got excited because Red5 is open source and free! I cannot afford flashcomm server software.

But why is it NOT recommended?

Can you explain why?

Can you test it out on your server please?

red5 core framework is fairly different to flashcom framework and NO flashcom apps will work unless the code is built to red5 framework.

as you guys know our video module will be worked perfectly on FCS.when we develop this module,it is built based on FCS,not on other applications, that's why we do not recommend you to use red5 to be used with our video module to enable video chat function for 123flashchat.

we understand your opinion that you asked let video module run on Red5 as well,it's a good suggestion.we are currently planning to develop the video module based on Red5.will let you guys know if we have any progress on it.
