Hm... So, basically this product has nothing to do with the Flash Comm stuff, right???
I got confused because that's where you've posted about this product on ActionScript.org...

I have SSH access to my host, but I am not sure if I am allowed to install Java SDK or if I can modify/create rc.local file as written in the manual...

This is the detailed information page of my host... (R1 package)
Can you see if I might be able to install this Chat server on my host???
http://webscorpion.com/reseller-details.shtml

And, I don't think this Chat program requires the MySQL or any other type of database to work, right??? Um... If that's the case, how does the user database get stored??? Maybe some sort of database is needed, I believe???

Thank you very much...

I have checked http://webscorpion.com/FAQ.shtml , it says:

Quote:
Can I add additional applications to my web site?

Within reason, yes, as long as they do not adversely impact the the server. However, if what you put up impacts performance or stability, the application will be removed.

If you're looking for a specific utility or common rpm, check with us first — in most cases we can easily add it to your domain.
1. We are sure our server application is high performance and high stability, that means,it could be running with lower cpu waster ,and could handle thousands of users online, it's not possible to impact your hosting server.

2. Our demo version is runing on the redhat linux OS, your hosting server can totally work fine.

3. you haven't installed any version of jdk if you upload our server application for linux to your server, it's bound with jdk1.4.2.

4. just open a ssh client, connect to your server, and uncompress our application,

$ tar zxf fcserver.tar.gz

$ ./fcserver.sh start

then check if your server is running:
$ ps -ef |grep java

One more thing , if your hosting provider doesn't permit to run the chat application at all, we can provide a chat server hosting service with a extra fee.

If you purchased our server software, we can provide the installation service for free.

Thank you for the reply...

I'm on shared line, so the only thing that I am concerned with is not having enough privilage to install things like JavaSDK...

Yeah... Getting a new host would be another option if I am not able to install any of the required elements for the Chat, and if the client agree to... Can you show me any price information on the hosting as well???

Thank you...
