Hi,
I've recently attempted to install 123flashchat on my server, and have had nothing but headaches trying to connect to the chat. I'm not entirely sure what's going on, but I will attempt to give as much detail as I can. I am running my server on a CentOS 4.3 (final) box. I've installed (followed the very simple instructions) 123flashchat as both root to the entire machine, and the admin for the account I'm trying to get this running on. The server appears to start fine (but gets stuck on "starting flash media server" and never moves past). When I attempt to log into the admin area on my site I am constantly told that I can't log in (or it just sits and sits and sits). There never appears to be any connection between the client (in my public_html) and the server (under the root). I can't even connect to the 35555 port. The only thing I can figure is a possible firewall issue, but that doesn't entirely make sense to me since this is an internal connection and should just be across the localhost. Any advice/insight/input would be greatly appreciated, as I'm now stuck and frusterated, and would really like to get this to work! Sean |

I'm running my chat at a Centos server with no problem.
"Starting flash media server....." is normal. It starting RED5 I think. You have java installed, and "server" dir in root, "client" in public_html? |

Hi sTj:
Please make sure you just installed one chat on your server, if you ever installed one and didn't remove it completely, the connection would be fairly slow, And if you just installed one on your server, why not restart and have a look whether the problem could be solved. Providing a screen shot and detailed error message will be great helpful to solve the problem. |
