Default Problems connecting

Good day:

I am trying to get the chat (ver 7.1)to work on my server and have been having issues.

FYI - I am running in a VPS and do have full control and access in my box.

Should the IP be the localhost 127.0.0.1 or the actual IP of my box? When I had the IP set to local, it was not allowing me to telnet into that port. If I put my actual IP in there, I am able to telnet in.

If putting my actual IP in is right, do I also have to do that for the derby database?

So, right now, I have my IP and ports that are open on my server, I can connect to that port via telnet, I see 3 running processes (assuming 1 is jre, one is chat and one is httpchat), I can get to the http chat but then it just either says connecting (forever) or if I try to log into admin panel I get a "Connection failed" message.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance
Drylyyx
