Have I Made a Mistake?

This is a an email that I've sent to tech - thought I might as well post here also:

Hiya

I came across this bit of kit and wanted to add it to the phpBB forum on the site in the sig. Having bought it from you and reading the installation instructions I'm not sure if I should have Apache installed etc...

This seems a bit of a dumb question but I'm I able to just up-load it to work on my web host or should I be the actual host? Reason I'm asking is that it has installed onto my PC and left me a tad confused as to where I go next

Maybe I'm just missing the wood for the trees as it's pretty late here, but any advice or pointers would be really welcome.

The software does look very nice. But I just have this horrific feeling that I have inadvertently bought software that should installed on a web server by the admin bodkins as opposed to the users. I've only been using proper web hosting since mid December so go easy on me

I never did see the answer to this... just other people asking the same question, with myself included... I'm interested in buying the program, but I sure as heck don't want to buy something that I can't use... yet everything I see says it's going to do exactly what I want, which is to integrate a chat board in my phpBB forum....

I have read the blasted instructions now for something like 8 hours, and I can't for the freaking life figure the blasted things out... why? Cause they say "don't copy these directories to the web," yet in the next breath they're talking about editing all these files that supposedly aren't copied to the web... well... that just makes no sense to me... if my computer is shut off, and the files I edit are on my computer, then how in tarnation are other people going to use the doggone chat if the files are sitting on my shut off computer?? ARRRRRRRRRRRGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (BANGING HEAD AGAINST WALL, AND POUNDING FISTS UPON FLOORS!!)

I don't freaking get it... "ahhh... but it's soooo eeeeeezzzeeee to set up!" HMPH!!! Maybe for someone with an IQ above 132! ARRRRRRRRRRRGH!!!!!

I have emailed support. I haven't heard crap back yet. My question to them was "If I buy this, will you build it, and document what you did so that if I have to recreate these steps, I'll know what to do? If so, how much will it cost." And yet I read in the site that installation is offered free to purchasers... well crap! How do I know if I wanna purchase the darn thing if I can't even get the freaking demo to work! ARRRRRRRRRRRGHHH!!!!!!!!

Hey... I bought the program anyway cuz I believe it'll do what I want... but I haven't received jack in the form of a serial number, and I still haven't heard anything back from support in regard to my first email... how the heck am I supposed to give them a serial number from my purchase when they haven't given it to me...

Am I like all alone in this forum of yours????

Sorry, Joy... you "day" from me is actually the tail end of a "week" of trying to figure this out... and then I had a programmer online for over 3 hours who also said "it'd be easy to install" before finally getting a hold of tech support...

Needless to say... it is not easy...

But we're working on it... hopefully it'll be running tonight, but I don't want to say for sure because I'm tired, and I know such a comment will jinx the installation.

If something weird will happen... it happens to me... I seriously make theee greatest beta tester, for tech support often find themselves scratching their heads wondering why a particular error is coming up.

But hey! We're gonna remain optimistic, yes? Cuz like the tech support people have been SO patient and kind with me!!! That's a DEFINITE BUNDLE of BROWNIE BUTTONS!!!!!
