Default Client out of date?

When creating a client of HTML format, then pasting the link and clicking on it. Using any browser, the login box disappears seconds later with the following error message.

Wrong Client Version!
Please refresh!

What is the problem? Cannot find any information on this.

Support then tells me;

>This message occurrs if your client folder is newer or older than the chat server. For >example, your chat server is version 9.0 but the client folder is for version 8.0. If so, you >will get the message "Wrong Client Version!"

However, as explained, this is a new install using the latest server and client that came with it.

When I pick html client on the joomla addon, the login box shows up for 2 seconds then the page goes blank. In the advanced settings, only html chat never works, the other two do.

Advanced Settings

Chat Client Mode
Standard Chat
Html Chat
Avatar Chat

So what does this mean?

The setup is that the 123flashchat is installed on it's own dedicated server.
The joomla site has the client directory at it's root, /var/www/html/client

Any time we click on any of the rooms in the module display, all we get is a broken url.
MyDomain | Domain Names, Web Hosting, and Free Domain Services

Not Found

The requested URL /index2.php was not found on this server.
Apache/2.2.3 (CentOS) Server at MyDomain | Domain Names, Web Hosting, and Free Domain Services Port 80

Is this perhaps because of the Chat Client Location setting?
Currently, it points to the dedicated server because no matter how I set it to use the local client, it always complains about a misconfiguration.

When I try putting; http://www.mydomain.com/client into the above section, I get;

Chat Server http_port or Client location is configured incorrectly

Any help to resolve this would be most appreciated as I've been going in circles for days with support and tickets.

You keep replying with the same thing, 'give us access'.
As I've said countless times, the site is not on the Internet.
Also, I don't like the idea of simply giving anyone out there access to our sites. There are too many companies asking for remote access then reverse engineering everything they find on the users site. Not saying this is your practice but saying I am with one of those companies that doesn't like giving remote access.

Can you not simply work with me to figure out the problem?

>Ans: We need to check the problem, there are many cause, maybe your ports are not >open, maybe your chat server couldn't connect to your webserver, etc.

>Please send a ticket to support@123flashchat.com and provide the following information,
>1. The root account of SSH account(Linux) or desktop account(windows) of your chat.
>2. FTP account of your website (with the read and write permission)
>3. Admin account of your website
>4. Two test accounts of your website

Doing some quick testing, the client is the same one that comes with the server. There is no mismatch in clients.

Do you think I should download the server and re-install it? And if I did that, is there a way to save all of the configuration first?

You can re-install a new one, and first stop the chat server, then bakup the folder TopCMM, after you have installed the new one, please copy the folder data, etc, database and file lib/fcserver.jar,license/license.dat to your new chat folder.

Thanks!

There is no such database. Do you mean the 123flashcaht directory on the flash server?
If I reinstall it, I also want to change the name to a shorter one. Is that a problem?

So before I do this, do you think it's because I installed it as trial then simply updated with a key? Because, it's the latest as far as I know.

Actually, giving the TopCMM tech staff access would be a good idea. For one, they could probably solve all of your problems in one go. Secondly, they don't touch any files other than the ones that belong to 123FlashChat. They did my installation plus a couple of additions and that has worked out great for me.

Point is: They simply make sure that everything is up and running the way it is supposed to do and it saves you a lot of headaches

If you don't have any policies in place or past experiences which make it difficult to give remote access, then you've got it easy.

I hear you, just not that simple. I could try to get this allowed but it can't be every single time we need help. What are the forums for if not to resolve problems so that others can search and fix their own also.
