First of all, what is the value of having the client copied onto the web server, into the room of the joomla site. Does it not act exactly the same way when run from the flash server by default?
Also, I have copied the client directory to the root of my joomla site but so far have not found a way of using that one over the flash server one. Can you advise on this. Thank you. |

Reason1, use http://<your website>/client to speed up access to client speed. Reason2, if your webserver and your chat server are not the same one server, you must copy the client folder from your chat server to your webserver, then you can visit this URL: http://<website>/client/123flashchat.swf?init_host=<chat server ip>&init_port=51127 Reason3, if you used the website domain to generate the license file, then you couldn't use this link http://<chat server ip>:35555, you must copy the client folder to your webserver. It's working the other way around for me. When I use the local (copy on the web server) I get; 'Access from invalid domain name "www.mydomain.com", connection failed! When I simply use the client that is with the server, then it works fine. Last edited by lewism; 05-27-2011 at 04:12 AM. |

It's the same domain, but a different host name.
As I stated, even when I purchased, I would be running the chat server on it's own dedicated server. You mentioned there is a speed advantage, can you explain that because so far, I don't see any problems, it's all pretty fast. Users are basically just using the module rooms list to gain access to the rooms on the other server. I am basically just sending users from the joomla site to the chat server. I'm not sure where there is any licensing worry. |
