Thanks for the input on this.

Would it not be
http://www.mysite.com/index.php/community/%USER%
This is making the assumption of using JS for example.
No, sh404sef rewrites the url as http://www.mysite.com/username.

I'm still looking for a way to actually add the userid variable in the api.

Yup, works just fine. Would be cool to have a small popup instead of a full new tab but not gonna complain about that since it's working.

We do not support to create your own variable. But This is an indirect way. As we only have %username% parameter in our chat, you will need to write a script to get the userid or some other variables you like from your website, then you can use the acquired variable.

The problem with your indirect way if it's what I'm thinking is that you can only have username or userid that way, so with this method all of the users in the room will show their user id instead of their username which makes this a non-solution. You can't have a user list in the room full of just numbers.

How difficult would it really be to add in another parameter to handle the user id? I don't see how you can claim integration with Joomla without being able to handle the user id considering that is the very core of how Joomla handles member data (as well as most other cms platforms). I wrote a recommendation in the Joomla extensions directory for 123flashchat a year or so ago but now I kind of feel like I shouldn't have if you can't spend 10 minutes to add in a parameter for user ids in a future build.

I wonder if you can use a lightbox plugin like uri sexy lightbox and then just add the component only view string to the end of the url you specify in 123flashchat to have the profile pop up in a lightbox? Just a thought off the top of my head. If you give it a try let me know if it works.
