It was time to come across another problem
![]() A short while ago my 123FlashChat was integrated with my JomSocial site. Your tech people gave me a great amount of help with that for which I am truly grateful *waves at Alice*. But since then a bug has crept up in JomSocial itself which destroys uploaded photographs. They are visible for a while and then disappear completely, even from the server. So the people from JomSocial have advised me to upgrade to version 2.2.3 And here's the problem: Logically I would just need to copy the changes made by the 123FlashChat staff, install the new version of JomSocial and put aforesaid changes back into the php-files - which sounds easy enough. However, the instructions in this page: How to add a chat room to JomSocial? ... are completely different from what has been done to install the JomSocial chat module on my site. In fact, the files mentioned there haven't been altered at all. So, question one: Is the information on that page out of date? Question two: If so, how do I find out which php-files have been changed so that I can put the right code back again after an upgrade? F. P.S. I did ask this question via a ticket already but I think this information would be helpful to others who have 123FlashChat integrated into a CMS that would need an upgrade - as they constantly do... :s |

Thank you, but the bug is not caused by 123FlashChat - it is a problem within JomSocial itself. That is why they advised me to upgrade.
I just want to know which files were changed when 123FlashChat was integrated so I can copy your code to the right pages after that upgrade. F. |

OK, I shifted through all the files and these are the ones which are added or modified when 123FlashChat is installed on your JomSocial site:
root/com_chat root/components/com_chat root/components/templates/default/frontpage.index.php root/components/templates/default/profile.index.php root/components/templates/default/toolbar.index.php root/com_community/controllers/chat.php root/com_community/controllers/friendlist.php root/com_community/helpers/chat.php root/com_community/helpers/request_remote.php root/com_community/models/chat.php root/com_community/models/friendlist.php root/com_community/views/chat root/com_community/views/friendlist/index.html root/com_community/views/friendlist/view.html.php Is this list complete? If so, it might be handy for those running into the same situation. F. |

For the all files you changed in your site, that can effect the chat integration in your site, and you can download the package, and see all of them, it is very clear, please understand. And if you want to backup them, and you can refer to that package, thanks. The link is: http://www.123flashchat.com/download...3flashchat.zip Download it and unzip it, you can see it, thanks. |

The link is fine, the package is clear... but it won't install. I get "Error installing file" from the Extension Manager of Joomla. Meanwhile, people cannot enter the chat anymore. It is not that I am getting impatient but the people using my chat are. They are moving to other sites so any help on this would be appreciated... F. |

It just makes me wonder if this mod was ever tested on a Joomla/JomSocial site. As far as I'm concerned you can use mine for that as long as we can get things working properly... F. |

I get the impression both software packages are in a (fast) dev mode and they have some trouble keeping up with each other. The tech guys of TopCMM are looking into it now though. I still have confidence in them ![]() F. |
