Are we Joomla 1.7 ready?

I'm surprised that no one has asked this yet, considering the 'millions' of customers .

Anyhow, we've got to make some updates and one of the things we've decided to do is to move our chat to another domain. As such, we want to build a joomla 1.7 site with JS on it but are not sure if JS modules are Joomla 1.7 and JomSocial compatible.

If not, how long until they are?
