Default message.log timestamp

The time stamp in the chat logs doesn't seem to use a 24 Hour clock.. yet there is no AM or PM either. I've written about this in the support forums some as well.

A chat log message that is recorded here at 3:00 PM EST gets recorded in the message.log file as 7:00:00 GMT. It should be 20:00:00 GMT... or 7:00:00 PM GMT I guess... anyhow, there is no way for me to distinguish really between AM and PM in the logs..

Also, I believe (I'm really not sure about this one) that your GMT time is slightly off. EST time is suppose to be GMT-5, but with the timestamp flash chat is putting in, it seems like EST is GMT-4... So its confusing..

The timestamp in the logs is really important to me. I parse all of the chat logs (timestamp, username, msg, etc.) and enter everything into its own table in the database so I can print it back out in nice format later.

Here's my suggestion:

1. first of all, please make sure your computer timezone is GMT-5 or not.

2. please edit <123flashchat server installed dir>/etc/fcserver.xml
find:
<time-zone>0</time-zone>
set it to:
<time-zone>-5</time-zone>

3. restart chat server.

have a try,

You also need to adjust for Daylight Saving Time if needed. I'm in -5, but during DST, I set 123FlashChat & 123LiveHelp to -4.

gotcha, we'll add this Daylight Saving Time to our program in future, right now please manually change the setting, after all it's only two times per year.
