close error with win98

i use this code with a button to close the application
var wnd = getMainWnd();
wnd.close();
it works ok in windows xp but if i go to windows 98 and try to open and close my application many times it give me error asking me to close application
this message doesn't appear each time i close my application but maybe it work good for 2 or three times after that give the error but the strange thing if i used the "Escape" button from keyboard to exit my application it works very good without errors even after 100 times running and closing
