Default activeX/Shell.Explorer and transparency

Hi

Is is possible to create an instance of a visible ActiveX controll, ie Shell.Explorer, and have it visible in a windowless transparent application. If not, is it possible to have the clipping region automatically update according to the shape of the objects on stage. This does not have to be smooth transparency, it can have jagged edges the way clipping region's have.

thanks

Yes, you can embed an AtiveX control in your program, even if it is windowless.

Hi, thanks

Do you perhaps have an example of a visual Activex controll, i.e. Shell.Explorer, embedded into a windowless application. I have tried it, and the page seems to load properly, but it is not visible at all.

Another question....is it possible to have a form appear windowless as well, I need multiple window support and forms seems like the right way to do it.

thanks

I downloaded your browser example, and added

Code:
setWindowless(true);
in the initialize script. It makes the app windowless, but the contents of the browsers isnt displayed.

I now created a separate button that calls setWindowless(true);
I load a page inside the browser, which loads and displays fine. Then when I click the button that calls the setWindowless(true) method, the window/borders disappear (as it should), but the browser content also disappears!

Was I correct in assuming that a windowless application (with full transparency) cannot display i visible activeX Controll such as Shell.Explorer ?
