Default SWFGen and Flash 9

For Flash 9, it can also substitute text, images and sounds, but not actionscript strings
I have been trying to get SWFGen to substitute some actionscript, namely the contents of a string. However, I've just found the above text. Is there a way to use Flash 9 / CS3 and get SWFGen to replace a string?

I'm trying to use SWFGen in the same way I use it with earlier versions of Flash. I've got a string e.g. questionData = "question data"; and I use SWFGen to replace "question data" with the actual data. This doesn't work with AS3 :-[ :'(

Yes, the current version of swfgen does not support as3. We will see when we can add this feature and get back to you.

Default Flash 9/ AS3 support

Hi Can you tell me if SWFGen has been updated to cater for AS3 and Flash player 9 movies for replacing actionscript strings?

I don't think it has been updated yet unfortunately I remember being informed that because the encoding of AS3 / Flash 9+ the methods for replacing AS3 strings are completely different.

Default SWFGen and Flash 9

Shame about this, with the advances in flash and ActionScript SWFGen has become an outdated product and making anything cool that can compete with other products on the market is tricky. Would be good if someone from the SWFGen team could let us know if development has stopped on this now or are you still trying to find a solution?

I too would be extremely keen to find a solution - I do know that SWFKit had been attempting to find a solution, but the last I heard it wasn't successful. This is really disappointing as the swfgen process is fantastic with AS1 and AS2.

Smile SWFGen and Flash 9

Shame as new features in AS3 would allow for cool applications to be made. Andy what type of things have you been making with SWFGen?

Great to see the message in another thread today:

devilmuncher - I've used the tools to help build a number of Flash game genenerators that I and other teachers use to develop materials for our teaching. SWFKit has been an excellent tool - but also hence why I'm so keen to see AS3 support....
