Hi all,
I have an external installer app (from another source) that installs IE, some browser branding, and then calls my SWFKit executable to copy files to the hard drive and start menu, and then possibly reboot the machine if necessary. Now, up until recently I wasn't able to reboot the PC because SWFKit had a bug in it that prevented me doing so. Thanks to the help of the support team I was able to get the reboot function working. HOWEVER, ever since then I have been getting the following problem: My SWFKit app is run from the IE installer app. If the shortcuts / files already exist on the user's computer, a dialog box is popped up to say "BLAH has already been installed, do you want to overwrite BLAH? Yes, No." All was working fine until recently. Simple enough, except now I can't roll your mouse over the message box to click yes or no on Windows 98 / ME because the box is "above" the mouse cursors itself. Not only that, but on Windows 2000 the dialog boxes don't appear in the centre of the screen as expected and are squashed into the top left hand corner of the screen, BUT you can actually click on them.... ??? It sounds like the app is being put on a higher z-level than the cursor (not by me though). how do I stop it doing so.... no idea what is going on with the boxes being squashed into the corner though.... ??? Any ideas, G. |

UPDATE:
Well, things are slightly better. Came in today, launched the app, and I can now hover over the buttons.... God bless Windows.... BUT, the dialog boxes are still being launched into the top left corner of the screen.... Cheers, G. |
