Default Database sample did not work

Hi, I downloaded the database sample and it did not work for me. I got an error message:

Microsoft JET Database Engine:Selected collating sequence not supported by the operating system..

I am using SWFKIT 1.05. Do I need a newer version to be able to use databases?

Thanks!

???

database works fine with Swfkit1.05.
But in some cases you have to instal
the Microsoft Data Access Components 2.8.
You can download it free at the microsoft website.

I had to do that on a pc with win98 and office95.

You can get the MDAC from here:
http://www.microsoft.com/data/
http://support.microsoft.com/default...;en-us;q184265

You also need the Microsoft Jet components to access Microsoft Access databases with ADO. The MDAC 2.0 will install Jet OLE DB provider 3.51 for Access 97, MDAC 2.1 to 2.5 will install Jet OLE DB provider 4.0 for Access 2000. From MDAC 2.6 you should install Jet provider yourself.

Thank you for replying! But the OS I am using is Windows XP. This is what I found on the Microsoft website:

Beginning with Microsoft® Windows 2000, MDAC is an integrated part of the operating system.

Is there a way that I can check to see if I have MDAC 2.8 installed on my machine?

Thanks!

Downloaded and installed MADC 2.8 still did not work.

Then after I changed the "select id, name, ... from student" to "select * from student", it worked.

Can we not do query for individual field in the database?

Hi,

Please send a sample to support@swfkit.com.
I think it's not caused by SWFKit. We will help you to resolve it.
Thanks.
