Just had a reply to a question I sent to the folks at swfkit hQ...I asked them (and asked in the forum) if I could build cd autorun menus from swf files with swfkit....the reply I got from HQ was the thumbs up...yeah you sure can....however before I part with $200.00 of my hard earned cash I thought I better make one first......ok so I opened up my trial copy and was greeted by the following start up tip:
"SWFkit has a wonderful interface, neat and clear, with a step-by-step guide. All features are clear at a glance, even inexperienced users can grasp it at once." Encouraged by this I did a search for auto run menu and found this...... "Create AUTORUN.INF file automatically for AutoPlay CDs" Now I have been looking for a simpler app than Flash MX that can do this for ages...so I dived in and started swimming.....but I guess I must be a reeeeaal dummy because I just cannot seem to make any headway....despite the fact that apparently... "even inexperienced users can grasp it at once." Can anyone give me some simple pointers please...oh for an on screen tutorial....sigh. Thank you for any input. eden |

Hi, edenworkshops
I think SWFKit Express 2 is suitable for you. The trial version has no function limit. You can try it first. Please look into the "Program Manager" sample http://www.swfkit.com/samples.html |

I downloaded the file you mentioned and ran the swf file...it seems to demonstarte that you can runcommands from within swf kit to open various app's....folders too...on the cd?
This looks like what I have been looking for... eden |

Sorry, I may be a little dense here, but you JUST want an autorun.inf file?
Create a new project and include any .swf files you want (put the one that you want to open first at the top). Then, click on the Operation panel, and if you look at the output settings (amongst other options) there is a checkbox to "Create Autorun.inf". Once you have selected an output directory and compiled your project, there will be an .inf file created for you. You can then open / edit it as you wish by navigating to the output directory manually. I think that is what you are after? G. |
