In v 7.0, 123 Flash Chat newly introduced an Import Data panel which greatly simplified the upgrade procedure, if you need to upgrade your 123 Flash Chat to v7.0, please follow the instructions below:

For v6.8 and post-v6.8 user:

1. Stop your old version chat and backup your old data.
2. Install a trail version of 123 Flash Chat v7.0.
3. Copy the license.dat we emailed you when you purchase 123 Flash Chat to this folder: <123FlashChatServer7.0 install directory>/server/license/ .
4. Copy fcserver.jar we emailed you when you purchase 123 Flash Chat to this folder: <123FlashChatServer7.0 installed DIR>/server/lib/ and replace the old one.
5. If you need to use MySQL to store your data (such as user information or room information), please following the instructions below, otherwise, please jump to step 6 directly
5.1 Create database
Start a command prompt in Windows or a Terminal in Linux, and run the following commends:
mysql --user=[user] --password=[password] --execute="CREATE DATABASE flashchat CHARACTER SET utf8 COLLATE utf8_bin;"
[user] and [password]  at here is your MySQL account
5.2 Import flashchat tables:
Please run the following commends: mysql --user=[user] --password=[password] --default-character-set=utf8 flashchat < mysql.sql
5.3 Edit fcserver.xml
5.3.1 Open this file: <123flashchat installed directory>/server/etc/fcserver.xml
5.3.2 Find this node:   change “Default� to “MySQL�.
5.3.3 Find this node: <database-server port="9001" ip="localhost" enable="On"></database-server>
And change enable="On" to enable="Off".
5.4 Configure Mysql.xml
Open <123flashchat install directory>server/etc/Mysql.xml, and configure the parameters according to the instruction, and this section: <connection-pool>...</connection-pool> is mainly used for database connection pool configuration, so it is unnecessary to modify.
5.5 Restart your chat server.
6.Log in Admin Panel as an administrator (the initial username/password pair is admin/admin), and navigate to -->System Management -->Import Data to import the old data (such as user and room information), to learn more about Import Data panel, please click here.

* Important Note
Since v6.8, the value of the host and port are both controlled by the HTML code instead of  xml configuration file, you need to check the HTML code and make sure if there are "init_host" and "init_port" arguments right after "123flashchat.swf".If not, install a v6.8 demo version and use "Publish Chat" button in local demo to generate new code and update the HTML code accordingly.
Don't forget to disable the downward compatibility in Admin Panel to prevent from being hacked by tools like WPE pro.

6. Restart your new chat.

For pre-v6.8 user

1. Upgrade your chat to 6.9.6 according to the instructions below:

1) Backup following files and folders:
1.1) <123flashchat old version installed directory>/server/etc/fcserver.xml
1.2) <123flashchat old version installed directory>/server/etc/groups/default.xml
1.3) Rename the "default.xml" to "server.xml"
1.4) <123flashchat old version installed directory>/server/data
1.5) <123flashchat old version installed directory>/client/client.xml
2) Install v6.9.6 demo which can be downloaded from http://www.123flashchat.com/download.html
3) Stop the chat server
4) Replace the new fcserver.xml, server.xml, client.xml and the "data" folder with the former one to reserve the old setting.
5) Start the chat server.

2. Upgrade your chat to 7.0.0 according to the instructions over-mentioned.
