123 Flash Chat Server Software v5.0 released!

Audio/ video chat module is added.

Webcam chat module of 123 Flash Chat Server Software officially released.
Unlike the main text chat which is based on 123flashchat own java server,
this a/v module is based on flash communication server.
So if you've already obtained and installed flash communication server,
you can then add voice/ video chat to your chatroom by simply configuring chat server.

Database Connection Pool is supported.

In the connection method of integrating database, the support to connection pool is now added. This is an enhancement to server performance. When thousands concurrent users are online, increase pool size appropriately can ensure the stability of connecting database and handle high load/ busy traffic.

Message Encryption is added.

Chat messages can be set to encrypted mode to ensure the security of the server.
123 Flash Chat Server encrypt messages using RSA algorithm, it can be enabled or disabled by administrator.

cross-domain-policy is enhanced.

The cross-domain-policy is now enhanced in this way:
not only all connections originating from domain which is not in the allow-access list is forbidden,
those connections originating from local computer by launching SWF file are now denied, too.
Only connections from allow-access list can access chat.
(Of course you can set it to permit access from any domain.)

Timezone setting is added to chat server.

In chat server setting, timezone is added.
The time displayed in chat client and in server logs is based on the timezone setting on chat server. see next feature.

Time stamp is added to chat client.

In the message list of chat window, time stamp is added. The end chat users can decide to enable or disable this feature.

Idle to auto kick is added.

When users are online for a predefined time and stay idle status, he will be automatically kicked offline.
In this way you can kick ghost out of your chat and keep your chat active.
This time period can be configured in xml file.
It can be enabled or disabled by administrator.

Resizeable private windows.


Moderated-chat is improved.

The logs of moderated-chat is improved to only record approved messages.
In this way only important messages are archived for future reference.

Max scroll height can be configured.

In chat client, "Maxium Scroll panel Height" can now be easily configured in xml file. With this feature, admin can decide the maximum height of messages before the message scroll begins.

Admin checking user directly.

Admin can now check user's IP and country in chat window directly.

Bugs are fixed.


Languages updated.


Chat server performance is enhanced.

Q: Do I have to upgrade?

A: If you are happy with your current version of 123flashchat and you are not interested in the new changes of v5.0 in above list, you don't necessarily have to upgrade to v5.0.
