The site owner has more power to control the bandwidth
consumption of the video chat module in following aspects:
- Admin now can control the max ammount of video windows each user can open.
- Admin can disable guest to open video window.
- Admin can enable video function only in specific room(s).
Note: video function is only available to 123flashchat video module buyer and video hosting owner.
not to all standard verson buyer.
Predefined message added.
Frequently used messages can be easily added to/removed from the predefined section to save time. Admin can define default canned messages for all users in config file, and regular users can define their own canned messages in control panel.
FlashEmotion added
Animated emotions can be externally loaded into the chat lobby or private chat to exaggeratedly express the sender's emotions.
PM in browser window
There are two destinations of the new incoming private message: in current browser or in a new browser.
If in current browser, the PM can opened quicker;
If in a new browser, the benefits are: it's easier to manage multiple PMs.
This setting can be predefined by admin and configured by regular users according to the system specification. By default it's set to "true" means in new browser window.
But be careful, too many PMs in multiple browser may lag your chatting speed.
If setting the PM opened in new browser window, then when new message comes in, there will be a mini-animation above the sender's avatar showing he's talking to you, click the animation to launch the PM window.
It is not automatically opened because popup killer application will block auto popup.
Animated backgrounds added.
More backgrounds, more fun.
Auth-url enhanced
auth-url is now enhanced to be multilingual support, means the chat is capable of dealing with username and password with special character in integration.
Bug fixed
- support port lower than 1024.
- enter room and change room.
- userlist in chat client.

Q: Do I have to upgrade?
A: If you are happy with your current version of 123flashchat and you are not interested in the new changes of v5.1 in above list, you don't necessarily have to upgrade to v5.1.
But if you do need some of the new features, please email to support@123flashchat.com to request upgrade.
