123flashchat Version 3 changes:
General Changes
Low Port
123 Flash Chat can listen port lower than 1024 now, like 80 or 443.
Change Nickname
User can change display nickname to chat after auto-login or login. Once someone changed nickname, people in the same room will get notification: someone has changed nickname from AAA to BBB.
Private Message Enhancement
1) two persons activate PM, even when a speaker change nickname, the recipient can still talk to the same person.
2) When one speaker in PM quit the current chat room , whether he stays in room list or enters another chat room, as long as he didn't logout, the PM remains and the communication can go on.
3) In option panel, user can change configuration to refuse to accept PM in case he want to be left alone.
Security Enhancement
cross-domain-policy is added to restrict access from other domain.
Shortcut buttons
A group of quick buttons is added at the top, they are:
enable/disable sound, check conversation history, enable/disable scroll screen, clear screen, exit room.
Change Background
Every skin offer some background pictures to choose from in chat area.
Language Files Updated.
Interface languages all updated, Norway language added.
Skin Files Updated.
Skin languages all updated.
Message control
Maximum length in message is limited now, which is controllable to admin.
Case Sensitive disabled.
Username(user or admin) is no longer case sensitive.
filter words no longer case sensitive.

Moderated-Chat
"Moderated-chat" is a new plug-in module,
it can work with 3.0 but not included in 3.0 standard version by default.
In a moderated-chat, all messages of ordinary users can't go public unless moderator or admin passed them.
Admin/moderator Power Strengthened
AD banner added.
Chat room owner can now make money out of 123flashchat by inserting JPG or swf banner into chat.
Edit Room
Room details in admin panel can be edited.
Bold Name
Admin, moderator, speaker names are now bold and can change color to be distinguished from ordinary users.
Options Added
Including:
1)enable/disable welcome/exit message in client setting.
2)make member-only room visible/invisible to guests in room list.
3)admin can enable/disable change-nickname in client setting.
ODBC Supported.
One method is added to authorizing users : using ODBC to connect to any database you want.

Q: Do I need to upgrade?
A: If you are happy with your current version of 123flashchat and you are not interested in the new changes of v3.0 in above list, you don't necessarily have to upgrade to v3.0.
